  1. Long ago the people had no lamps oil or candles like nowadays. The principal light was a piece of bog dale and if the had not that they would get rushes and dip them in tallo and make a wick of cotton thread.
    The people often spent a long day in the bog getting bog dale for light in the night. When it would get dark they would light their candle and leave it on the hob and all the people would sit around the fire and tell stories
