    Long ago about the time of the Penal Laws a man named Murray lived at Sheemore. He was a big farm and kept 20 cows, and other animals as well. One evening as he and his wife were milking the cows they heard a child crying, and then one of the cows kicked the vessel and spilled the milk. The next night the same thing happened. The man had heard often about the fairies supposed to be living in his land, so he knew well they wanted the milk. He said "Don't be at any loss while I am alive. I will give you the milk of that cow (pointing to one of the cows) if you want it." He saw nobody but every night the cow
