  1. The devil was going around looking for recruits. He went into a tailor. The tailor was on the table sewing. The devil introduced himself. His conditions were pomp and glory and lots of money for twelve months. The tailor made the bargain for twelve months. "This is Christmas Eve and I am coming for you on next Xmas Eve twelve months", said the devil. "Well" said the tailor, "lots of whiskey for Xmas and twelve months. Sure I might not live half that length. I will burn the stomach out of myself with whiskey. I will drink". So the tailor and the devil parted and wished each other "A happy Xmas". "Bloody thundering nouns" said the tailor "your shakehands is a warm one". "Well" the devil said "remember Xmas Eve twelve months". "Ah" said the
