    Long ago the people used to wear [?] oftener than shoes because they had not enough money to buy shoes. l Sometimes the children used to go barefoot all the year round
    Long ago the people used to get their shoes made by the shoemaker. There lived a shoemaker in this place named Michael Diskin. He lived in the house where May Hunt lives now. This man used to make shoes for the people of the place. He died about 16 years ago.

  2. The children leave their shoes off in Summer time. The water in which a person washes his feet is not used for anything. When a person got a new pair of shoes he rubbed castor oil on the leather to prevent it from cracking. This custom still prevails. Long ago the old men and women used to wear [?] going to the fairs and markets
