- (continued from previous page)The ruins of an old forge are to be seen near. Keanes house in Crumlin. It belongs to Michael Bourke who died 4 years ago.
- Mr Raftery made gates for the local people. If anyone was getting married he usually brings a blacksmith to the wedding. If not it is said he would have no luck.
- There is a tailor living near Irishtown. His name is James Hunae. He lives his fathers house. He works in a room for himself and he employs another [?] also. When a person wants a new suit he has to buy the cloth in the shop. The "tailors goose" is an iron which the tailor uses for pressing clothes. James Huanes father, Austin, used to go from house to house long ago making clothes but he does not do so now because he is too old.(continues on next page)
