    he fled with the Meera man after him but he saw he was going for the Shannon. The Meera man took a huge mass of earth and threw it after him. It fell in the Shannon beside him and nearly killed him. Where the mass of earth fell it became an island and it was afterwards called "Giants Island".
    This story was told to me by my father.
