  1. About thirty years ago my grandfather Francis Scollan, Shrewane, Foxfield Co. Leitrim, and Mrs. Fanning of Greagh were going to a funeral of a child of Tom Cox's. They said they would go across Fenagh lake in a boat as it was a nearer away. When they half way out on the lake when the boat overturned and he leaped out of it and Mrs. Fanning caught hold of the boat and he got her on his back and swam to the shore.
