    In the Penal times the priests or Catholics had been killed and chased by the "redcoats." The priests would say Mass in a lonely place and there would be men on guard. In the townland of Drumorthy there is a blessed well where Mass was said. It is under a hazel tree at the foot of a hill. Beside the well is a long stone with names on it
