  1. There was an old aged girl twenty years ago that used to come to Mrs. Rosey Fannings about four times a year. Her name was Biddy Flannigan and she travelled on foot and made her living by quilting quilts. Then the people gave her a few shillings for her work which supported her.
The Mac Donoughs come in the harvest each year to the Drumhirk road. They travel in vans and make their living by making porringers and tin gallons and repairing gallons and other things in the neighbouring houses.
