  1. The most harmful weeds growing on our farm are dock-weed, thistle, nettle, robin run the hedge, red shan[?] pepperment, the latter is very harmful to the crop and its roots grows through the potatoes. The nettle and pepperment are used as medecinal herbs. The nettle is good for the blood if boiled and drank in March. The pepperment is a useful herb for head-ache and stomach if made of tea of. Docks are cut up and given to pigs.
