  1. An Old Story

    There is a slab of stone in the yard at Rehins House, which is about a half-mile north-east of Rehins school.

    There is a slab of stone on the yard at Rehins House, which is about a half-mile north-east of Rehins School. The slab is about two-and-a-half feet square, and is about six inches thick. On it is written "A.C.D. 1718." These letters are understood to mean "After Christ's Death."
    I often heard that in a very early age monks inhabited the house, and that they were "turned out" wrongfully. It was they who left this slab there, and it is foretold that this house will again become a home for monks.
