  1. I have some bed sheets of my mother's handwork in the house yet. She lived in Cruggane in the parish of Backs. It is about eighty years since she them.
    She grew the flax herself, and prepared it for the weaver. Then she sent it to Mr. Merrick, who resided in Ballina, and he wove it into linen. Later he emigrated to America, and died a few years ago.
