  1. "In a field in Ballinahaglish, Backs, Co. Mayo. there was an old mill about one hundred years ago. This field is situated along the Foxford-Ballina road and about three miles from Ballina.
One part of the year this mill was used for grinding corn, and it was used for thickning frieze the other part of the year.
It was erected about the year 1800 and was in use for about thirty years. The fields at present is owned by Mr. John Morrission, Ballyhernane, Backs, Co. Mayo. Beside the field a canal flows, and by this water the mill was worked."
