  1. About 1/4 of a mile to the West of Foxford there is a family named O'Hara. One night about 30 years ago one of the family heard a strange noise in one of the rooms. He listened for a while, and heard mortar falling from the walls. He was very much afraid, and he told his other brother. They both listened and still heard the same noise.
    The next night the two brothers stayed up, and sat at the kitchen fire. About 12 o'clock the step of a man came into the room and started to knock the mortar. The two boys heard the noise, but could see nobody. The next day one of the boys went for the priest--Father Bourke, and brought him to the house.
