  1. In a field owned by Henry O'Hora Rathnaconeen there is a big tree growing out of a rock. He and his brother were working there one day. The shadows of night were falling as they were about to return home.
They heard a rumbling noise behind them. They looked around and to their amazement saw a donkey cart of fairies going down the field from the tree. They were dressed in red coats, and pointed red caps. They wore long pointed boots, the tops of which were curled up. Henry O'Hora said he could hear them plainly singing, "Ta-ram and reek-creek"
On hearing this they began to run for their home.
