  1. About 60 years ago when people were getting married they went on horse-back to the chapel, the girl sitting side-saddle behind her intended husband.
    The marriage took place in presence of the parish-priest of the girl, and of two witnesses. If the ring was forgotten the church key was used instead, and it is said that if the ring was let fall the marriage would be unlucky.
    After the marriage the "dragging" which consisted of 20 horses, and their jockeys raced from the chapel to the home of the bride. The
