  1. There are a number of old forts in this district. There is one in James Farrel's farm, Mullinavouchan, Kinlough, Co. Leitrim. It is about three feet higher than the ground around it and it is surrounded by an alt on three sides, but on the other side it is surrounded by a very large white thorn hedge.
    No one ever cuts any of the trees or the bushes which are growing there, because the old people said that it was unlucky to interfere with anything in a fort because it is the fairies fort and anything that is in
