  1. There are no tailors in this district and never were except a travelling tailor who stayed in the house where a suit of clothes was needed. His name was Dan Connolly or Dan the tailor as he was locally known. He did not carry cloth about with him as it was made in almost every house then.
    A homespun, handsown suit was regarded as the best article and would wear well. There is no cloth made here now but the wool is still sent to the factory in
