  1. In formor times shops were far more plentyfull than they are now. The nearest market place for butter was in Derry. The calves were not worth keeping as they were only five and six shillings. The fairs were held in the village of Kinlough in olden times. There was a shop in Ballindriat in former times. Nothing was given on tick, but, there were no cant shops long ago and you would have to bring the tailor to your own house to get a suit of clothes
