    The Local Forge
    There were two forges in the parish of Kinlough about fifty years ago. They were owned by William Pye and Francis Mac Gloin. The two forges were situated in the back street, Kinlough and their successes are living there still but they have lost the trade. At that time smith work was a very profitable way of living.
    The two forges were of the same make and no one of the smiths was better than the other. The one which I am going to
