  1. Each day as we go to school we read of great deed done for Ireland but before we reach the school we pass through the little village of Drumsna and like many mor villages in Ireland it has a martyr to its name. On a dark October's night in the year 1920 as volunteer Patrick Gill was going to his cousin wake in the company of his sister and another lady friend he was shot dead by British soldiers who claimed afterwards the called on him to halt that he refused to do so.
