  1. In ancient times in Ireland there was an animal much the same size and shape as a pig only that it was black. It was said that any places it travelled there was a battle or there would be one there sometime. The black pig was seen at Ballinamuck before the battle was in it. The places it travelled were called "The Valley of the Black Pig". Before the last Great War the black pig was seen going through Ireland. People from the districts round saw it going from Ballinamuck to a town in Roscommon. The people said the black pig was an evil spirit in the form of a pig.
