  1. The penal times were very bad on the people of this district as they were deprived of many advantages such as attending mass. No priests were allowed to say mass in churches only in country houses or lonely places where they could not be seen.
    Thousands of people died with hunger in those days. In Drumsna there is a hill and in the hill there is a rock which is called the Mass rock. It is said that long ago they said mass on the rock. In the rock there is a chalice carved out. When it
