  1. Boys like spinning tops can very easily make one by getting an old spool on which there was thread and pare it out very fine on one end and paint it any colour.
    Bird cradles are very useful for catching birds. Get a lot of thin saly rods, and weave them in and out, and then when it is made, leave it out in the garden and put crumbs of bread in it. Then the birds will come on to take out the crumbs and they will get trapped in it. Little boys around this locality also make whistles out of chestnuts. They put a hole through it, and then they can whistle easily with it.
