    to be married and they stepped on the stone, but when they were in the middle of the Shannon the stone sunk and the couple were drowned.
    The stone was taken up from the bottom of the Shannon about 50 years ago and it is now outside Whitehall church in Roscommon and it is known as "St Barry's boat".
