There is an old lake which formely supplyed the old Lead Works with water and on a sunny summer day he can be seen skimming its surface in its low flight in search of flies He can also be seen on our river which flows through our Glen He builds in a bank and if anybody interferes with it he forsakes it as he is very careful of his eggs and young He builds usually in a place far away from the reach of anybody who might desire to interfere
- The Robin is said to have got his red brest from Our Lord when he was dying for us the robin took pity on Him and tried to pull one of the thorns out of his head in so doing a drop of blood on his breast and ever since the robin has a red breast.
