    the present school in Buckode was built.
    At that time the Parish Priest of Kinlough Rev. John Maguire requested the (jhost)[?] Johnstons to give him a site for a school in Edenville but they refused. Massey learning of the refusal offered the the Priest any place in the estate together with ten pounds with which to start. He also gave a bonas of six pounds per year to the teachers in the estate to supplement the dept salary.
    The present large house in Mt. Prospect, Kinlough, Co. Leitrim belonged to a family called Connollys who were tithe collectors
