    The following are some of the prayers which were said on going to bed at night:-
    1. As I lay down on my right side,
    I pray to God to be my guide,
    If any evil comes to me,
    O, Lady Mary waken me.
    There are four corners on my bed,
    There are four Angels on it spread,
    St. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
    God bless this bed that I lay on.
    2. As I lay on this bed to sleep,
    I give my soul up to the great God to keep,
    If I die before I wake
    I pray to God my soul to take.
    There are four corners, etc,
    3. God bless Good Friday and Friday too,
    The day our Saviour was crucified,
    His tender Mother standing by,
    With a heavy sigh and a mournful cry.
    God bless those who say this prayer,
    Three times by day and three times by night,
    The gates of hell shall never enter in.
    4. Infant Jesus, meek and mild,
    Look on me, a little child,
