    The twigies used in the manufacture of cradles, hand baskets and chairs were peeled in the following way:
    The craftsman put them into boiling water - preferably potatoes water - and holding a piece of cloth in each hand he gripped the rods in the centre and pulled one towards one end of the rods. Then replacing that hand near the centre he pulled the other hand towards the other end of the rods removing the bark completely.
