woman were going for sticks to a wood which borders the field. As they were going through the field to the wood they tried to get to the stone but with the same result. They could not even get out of the field. They were compelled to walk round and round and they thought they were walking for hours At last from exhaustion they lay down in the field and fell asleep When they awoke it was day and the sun was shining and they thought that they must have been under some fairy spell
Alley's-river Field is situated not far from Shanganah Castle
