  1. My great-grandmother lives in a place called Midcut.
    One day there came in a queer looking little woman to her. She was dressed in a red cap, and a white apron. She said she was hungry, and asked for food. "The food is not very plentiful," said the woman of the house, "but whatever I have you will get your share." She gave her milk, and oatbread, and butter as there was no tea in those days. When she was going away she thanked her and said "the Top Grain of Croghan to you," and from that day on they had plenty of everything.
