- I heard this story from my grandfather Wm Gardiner of Derrymore barrigans He said there was a farmer living in Doorsh where Mrs Gillispie is living now He had a man hired and this man wanted to go to the harvest fair, but the farmer would not let him because he said he had to mow a field of corn
The farmer went to the fair himself and the man man set out to mow When he reached the field he found the corn was cut tied + stooked
He went to the fair and the first man he saw was the farmer It must have been the fairies that did it This man was supposed to practise black magic- Collector
