    Last Friday night a friend and I
    Went to the annual ball,
    Of the famous Porthall footballers
    In Kinnyvally hall.

    Such a large array of dancers,
    Never did I see.
    Colleens fair from everywhere
    And cave men from Clonleigh
    (3) The men were dressed in evening dress
    Black suits and shirts of white
    Pointed toes and Shiney nose
    They were a lovely sight.

    The girls were dressed in dance frocks
    That went down to their toes
    They had lipstick on their lips
    And powder on their nose

    The first I saw was Tango Joe
