  1. Nearly any time is common about here but the most common time is St. Stephen's day.
Most people think it is lucky to married on St. Stephen's day. Others think it is lucky to be married in the Spring. People think it is very unlucky to be married on Friday or Saturday or in the Autumn.
My grandmother told me she knew a woman who would not let any of her daughters be married in blue or any of her sons be married in a brown suit. And when they were married the mother gave them all a silver penny for luck.
