  1. For 'Tis the Spring

A peace so sweet is in the air
    And new-born gladness everywhere
For joys ahead all things prepare
    For 'tis the Spring

    (II)
New life is stirring in the ground
The happy signs are all around
And youth and strength in force abound
    For 'tis the Spring

    (III)
The birds peal forth in chorus gay
And gladness scatter all the day
And soon their little eggs will lay
    For 'tis the Spring

    (IV)
The gentle lambs run wild with glee
And skip and scamper o'er the lea
The world is glad such joy to see
    For 'tis the Spring

    (V)
The humming bees and flowers are seen
And children playing round the green
And life takes on a golden sheen
    For 'tis the Spring
