  1. There used to be a lot of leprechauns in Ireland. I don't think there are any in it now.
    My granny knew a woman who lived between Dooish Hill + Newtowncunningham. One day a leprechaun went into her house + asked for some meal. The woman gave him a bowl-ful + told him that that was the half of what she had. The leprechaun thanked her + said, "Go to the big tree on yonder hill + you'll get a baf of meal lying beside it. Bring home the meal + don't be afraid to use it as it's the top grain of Ballylaven."
    The woman went to the hill + sure enough she got a bag of meal lying beside a big tree. She took it home + used it.
    There is a place up at Dooish Hill where leprechauns used to live. They didn't like anyone to go near the
