  1. St Martin's Day November 8th 1938
Every St. Martin's day always falls on the 11th November. It is an old custom in this district that every one kills some sort of fowl for that day. When they kill the fowl they sprinkle the blood in the four corners of the kitchen and they also sprinkle the blood in the corners of the out-houses. They kill the fowl any day from the 2nd November until the 11th November. They women cookes a lot of meat for that day and everybody in the district have a feast on that day.
