  1. One day the Holy family was going along the road and she lost the pin of her clock which she had wrapped around the Holy Infant. She asked a cowheard for a thorn that might do for a pin. He said "I have no time to get you one" although he had nothing to do but to mind the stock. They asked another cowherd and he gave the same excuse. When they were passing a forge the blacksmith came and he saw that the Blessed Virgin needed a brooch. He took out a piece of money out of his pocket and he beat it into the finest brooch that was ever seen. The Blessed Virgin took the brooch from time and she gave
