Some days were counted lucky and others were counted unlucky.
Monday was a day that was counted lucky for beginning ploughing and other work like that.
They also had a look out for the Fair Day of Bunlahy or better known as the Gooseberry Fair which occurred on the 2nd July for sowing seeds.
Garlic was sown on Good Friday and pulled between 15th August and 8th September because they were counted lucky days. Onions and early potatoes were also sown on the same day.
People also thought that Monday was a lucky day for changing to an new house.
Monday and Thursday were counted lucky days for getting married.
