  1. Saint Michael is traditionally connected with the district. There is a holy well in Tubbernahalla about three miles from Ballyduff and in the Parish. It is called St Michael's well. Many people go there to say prayers at a certain time of the year.
    There is another holy well in Shean called St Carthage's well and people go there at certain times of the year to say some prayers and they leave different coloured rags there.
