  1. The local fairs are held in fair fields and in towns. Many years ago fairs were held in Ballyduff. When cattle are sold money is given to the person who buys the cattle as luck money. When a bargain is made the person who is buying strikes the man's hand who is selling to know is he satisfied.
In some places toll is paid on the cattle. When a buyer buys cattle he puts a scissors; mark on them or a raddle mark. When cattle are sold the halter is given to the buyer with the cattle. Special fair are held each month.
