Until she arrives at the spot
Where by sea sense she knows, the finest dulse grows
Which she gathers without e'er a stop.
As the time rolls along, the good work is being done
and each bag is soon filled to the top.
III
With step that is light she steps o'er the rocks
She seeks out the leaf that brings gain.
With feet neither covered with slippers nor socks
But the sharp jagged points give no pain.
For her soles have grown tough with the work and the wear
From (all) pain they are almost immune
She trots through the sharp shell's that lie everywhere
and they cause neither pain nor a swoon.
IV
With heart that is light but with bags that are full
She turns her back on the shore.
Well laden, she now has a strenuous pull.
A big load! it often was more.
On a flag in the sun the dulse is soon spread
Then back to her neat cot again.
and the children for whom she's been earning the bread
