At that moment McClintock fainted and was carried home unconscious and some time later he died. When morning came the priest thought it was the English soldiers that turned the stone upside down and that day he left the district of Craigadooish. It was lucky for him did so because the English soldiers were looking for him around Craigadooish and Binon but they could not find him because he was miles away. That was all the people of Craigadooish heard about him. The stone is still on Mass-Lee in the position McClintock left it.
