  1. On New Years night the wren boys or mummers hold a party in some house. They buy stout and whiskey and other things with the money they have gathered.
    When "Old Christmas" comes everyone has a great feast that night. On the first day of February a lot of crosses are made out of rushes[?] in honor of St. Bridget. On St. Patricks day the band plays and there is a dance in every place on that night.
    The day before Ash Wednesday is called Shrove Tuesday or it is locally called pancake Tuesday and all the people make pancakes Holy Thursday is called clipping Thursday and everybody gets their hair clipped on that day. On Good Friday people set flowers plants and other things because it is said that anything set on that day will grow very well. On Hollow Eve it is a custom to have a store of apples and nuts.
