    There was once a British highchurch minister that met an old Irish woman on the streets of London that he was well acquainted with. He said, "Well Biddy did you hear the sad news?" "Arrah what news agradh"? said Biddy. "The devil is dead" he said. Then Biddy handed him sixpence and when he asked her what it was for she said. "Arrah agradh it was the custom in Ireland before I left when the head of the family died to have a collection for the orphans?
