    Before Lent and Advent was the usual time to get married long ago.
    The marriage ceremony always took place in the evening. Those asked to the wedding marched from the wedding house to the chapel two deep, a fiddler playing in from of them. Sometimes they used to march with horses, a boy and a girl on every horse.
    Matches were always make [made]. They boy who wanted to get married sent a few strange boys to the girl's house and if the Father and Mother were willing to give her, she would have to marry him whether she herself was pleased or not. Sometimes it was the fat-
