John Gallagher used to swim for six miles. Edward Gallagher who lived in Portaferry saved a child who was at the bottom of the sea. He dived down and brought it up.
John Barret and Paddy Kennedy were good rowers. The best mowers were Andrew Elliot. He could mow an acre of hay in a day. Paddy McNeleis was the best story teller. James Sharpe was a good singer and one of the songs he mostly sung was "Jack in the Lum".
