  1. The biggest fair for fat cattle and sheep is held in Glenties on the twelfth of September every year.
    There were fairs long ago in place which there are none now. Long ago fairs were held at cross-roads and at bridges. Men do not give earnes when buying animals they pay for them when they buy them. When two men hit each other's hands we know the bargain is made. Sometimes when a man has an animal bought if he finds any fault in it he gives it back to the seller.
