  1. Long ago people never put milk on their tea and the would eat no meat in Lent. They never went to their neighbour's house after night in Lent.
The old people used to walk to Glenties fasting on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday without combing their hair until twelve o'clock and they would walk home fasting. They never baked their bread with milk in Lent they always baked with water.
