  1. In olden times the landlords were very cruel on the tenants. My grandmother told me the following story about a woman called Mrs. McGee and three children. Her husband left with poverty to go to America. While he was there a landlord named Mr. La Touche evicted them. He threw out all the furniture and beds and left them to starve by the roadside. Some of their friends took the children and after a few years their friends sent them to America to their father.
